About Us
Olive Juice is a team effort between husband and wife duo Cody and Natalie Jurrens. Although they come from different backgrounds they ended up meeting at culinary school at the Culinary Institute of America in Saint Helena, CA. Previously Cody was raised in Humboldt County before enlisting in the Army. After 8 years in the military, Cody realized he had a passion for cooking which led him to culinary school. He was also able to obtain his cicerone certification in 2017 from Samuel Adams through his work at beer distribution company called Columbia. Meanwhile, Natalie was raised in Orange County before getting her Bachelor’s of Psychology and History at Concordia University Irvine in CA. From there her path led her to Connecticut to get her Master’s in Criminal Justice from Sacred Heart University with a focus towards statistics regarding offender recidivism. She completed her Master’s while working for the Fairfield Police Department and learning sign language at the American School for the Deaf. When she achieved her degree she moved to San Francisco and attended Allied International University to get a second Master’s in Clinical Counseling Psychology. At this time, she realized her passion for cooking was so great she couldn’t resist any longer and enrolled at the Culinary Institute. Cody and Natalie both attended and graduated the Culinary Institute of America in Saint Helena from 2018 to 2020. Cody was able to work at Hula Grill at The Grand Waikiki in Hawaii while Natalie worked at La Toque in Napa. After graduation, Cody enrolled at Southern New Hampshire University for his Associate’s in Computer Science and Natalie worked at Trefethen Family Vineyards as the Chef de Partie for 2 years. In 2022, they moved to Orange County and began Olive Juice.
